Outbound SMTP Server for Streamyx User Changed to Port 587

With the recent announcement regarding outgoing SMTP port 25 been blocked by Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Telekom Malaysia Berhad had further revised and announced on 26th December 2007 that effective 15th Jan 2008, only outgoing SMTP port 587 is allowed for all outgoing SMTP email activities.

The changes will only affect Streamyx subscribers who are using the Streamyx dynamic IP package. Customers who are using other ISP’s Internet connection such as Maxis, PenangFon...etc will not be affected by this change.

If you can’t sent out emails via your local email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird … etc) and you are a Streamyx subscriber, that means most likely you were affected by this new implementation.
To overcome this problem, kindly refer to our suggested solutions as
below:

Change your SMTP port to Port 587.

Solution 2 (Suggested by TM)
=============================
You may change your SMTP server to the open-relay SMTP server provided by TM. Please be assured that by using this option, your email address is still remaining as YOU@YourDomain.com. Kindly refer to the following on how to configure your email client in order to utilize this relay server:

Alternatively, your e-mail administrators can refer to URL below as a guide to configure your company’s email servers:
http://webmail.tm.net.my/info/smtp-proxy.html

Updates on Outbound SMTP Server for Streamyx User (Important!)

Please be informed that affective 3rd Dec 2007, Telekom Malaysia Berhad had blocked OUTBOUND Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) traffic or port 25 for all out going e-mails from dynamic IP addresses. Only Outbound SMTP traffic from smtp.streamyx.com and smtp.tm.net.my will be allowed. With this implementation, Streamyx customers who have their own mail server (Example:
mail.YourDomain.com) will not be able to send out e-mails using email program.


p/s: Clients who are using Webmail or using other Internet Service Provider that allows custom SMTP server will not be affected.

How to overcome this problem?

Solution #1 (Recommended)
===========================

To overcome this problem, We had created a new port for SMTP server, Exabytes clients who were affected, may change the SMTP Server from Port 25 to Port 26.

To change the SMTP Port, kindly refer article as below:

MS Outlook
1. Tools > Account Settings
2. Double click on your email account > More Settings
3. Goto Advanced tab, under Outgoing server (SMTP), change the port 25 to 26.


Outlook Express
1. Start Outlook Express, click the Tools menu at the top of the window and then click Accounts.
2. Double click on your email account
3. Goto Advanced tab, under Outgoing server (SMTP), change the port 25 to 26.



Solution #2 (Provided by TM)

Payment method change from Post-paid to Pre-paid now

Dear Value Customers,

In the past, we used to help customers to pay for their domain/web/email register/renewal fee, and an invoice will be sent to customer after that. This payment method has been created many problems to us; Some customers never pay even the payment is due for a year; Some ignore our reminders.

Because of these bad habits, we have decided to change the payment method from post-paid to pre-paid method in order to overcome the problems.

Effective April 5, 2007, all the new/become-expired domain/web/email register/renewal will be charge first before it can be proceed further.

Please follow the below steps in order to renew your domain:-
1. A reminder email will be sent to customer 60 days before domain expired.
2. Customer have to reply us and send us an email to confirm the renewal.
3. Upon receiving customer email, an invoice will be sent to customer for the payment.
4. Customer have to pay via bank-in/transfer payment into our account.
5. Customer has to send us an email to info the date and time they bank-in/transfer money into our bank account.
6. When the payment is cleared by the bank, the renewal will be proceed.

Payment after expired date will not be accepted and domain lost will not be our responsible.

Please follow the below steps for new registration:-
1. Upon enquiry, we will send customer a form to fill up information.
2. After receive the form, we will send customer an invoice for the payment.
3. Customer have to pay via bank-in/transfer payment into our account.
4. Customer has to send us an email to info the date and time they bank-in/transfer money into our bank account.
5. When the payment is cleared by the bank, the register will be proceed.

TM Net Streamyx users intermittent connections time out

TM Net Streamyx users intermittent connections time out

Dear Valued Clients,

Please be informed that some TM Net Streamyx users will experience intermittent connections time out when accessing the internet which includes some of the web sites hosted by Youngmantech as well as web site which are NOT hosted by Youngmantech.

This is due to there is a high latency over certain TM Net network hops.

You may try to overcome this by reconnecting your Streamyx.

If still not working after reconnecting your Streamyx for several times, you may try updating your local DNS cache by following steps below:

1. Open your command prompt
2. Type C:\ipconfig /flushdns

If this doesn’t help, you may do a trace route from your local terminal by using Ping Plotter which can be downloaded from:
http://www.pingplotter.com/downloads/pngplt_1.exe

Kindly do a trace to your www.domain.com and mail.domain.com

If your connection is ok, the result should look like below:
